Mission Science Tech - Science In Action
School TV
Science
and technological developments have become both friend and foe to mankind.
Negative consequences as a result of selfish and irresponsible usage of these
developments have created a need for learners to become scientifically literate
citizens who can apply their skills ethically and responsibly.
To this end, MISSION SCIENCE TECH will shape the learners' minds by keeping
them abreast of science & technology matters. The programmes, consisting of
both local and international footage, will provide fundamental problem-solving
skills, which can be adapted over time in various social settings.
Through a series of 40 programmes learners will learn how about dissolving
mixtures, the power of vibrations & sound, how gravity works, how physics
can truly be fun when you discover how a roller coaster works, etc. Learners
will have a deeper understanding of how science & technology influences
society, the economy and the environment but, also how
Intermediate learners can embark on a series of exciting scientific
adventures by tuning into School TV to watch MISSION SCIENCE TECH every Tuesday
at 11:30 on SABC 2.
