NSTF call for nominations
The National Science and Technology Forum (NSTF) is launching the 5th
Call for Nominations for the highly-acclaimed NSTF Science and
Technology Awards for 2002 - an event in which the NSTF assertively
prides itself!
In yet another noble attempt to honour and recognize role models in
Science, Engineering and Technology (SET), the NSTF is calling for the
SET community in South Africa to identify and nominate possible
candidates in the six different categories of the prestigious NSTF
Awards for 2002. The re-nominations of previous unsuccessful entrants
and the runners-up of previous events should be encouraged. Note that
previous winners cannot be considered again.
The closing date for nominations is Friday, 31 January 2003. The
adjudication process will commence in February 2003 and close in April
2003, where after the finalists of each category will be announced and
widely publicized nationwide.
A Gala Dinner for the celebration and announcement of the winners is
planned for Friday, 30 May 2003 in Sandton, Johannesburg. This high
profile event is recognized and has been attended by the Presidency of
SA, the Ministry of Arts, Culture, Science and Technology, the
Director-General of the Department of Science and Technology, Heads of
Science Councils, Higher Education and many other key stakeholders in
the SET community.
