10th International Mathematics Competition for University Students
The 10th IMC is being co-organized by University College London and Babes-Bolyai
University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania. It will extend over six days and take place in
Cluj-Napoca from 25 July to 31 July - 2003 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania
Every participating university is invited to send several students and one
teacher. Individual students are welcome. The competition is planned for
students completing their first, second, third or fourth year of university
education and will consist of 2 Sessions of 5 hours each. Problems will be from
the fields of Algebra, Analysis (Real and Complex) and Combinatorics. The
working language will be English.
Babes-Bolyai University, which traces its roots back to 1565, has over 40,000
students in 19 Faculties. It is named after the physician and bacteriologist
Victor Babes and the mathematician Janos Bolyai, one of the founders of
non-Euclidian geometry, who was born in Cluj.
