Science for Grades 10 - 12This month we kick off with a series of science lessons for Grades 10 -12 learners. The entire science syllabus, from Grades 10 through 12 has been covered and approved by the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) in South Africa thus ensuring that what you learn with SWK is congruent with what is taught in the science classroom on a daily basis. These lessons, prepared by scientists are also available at www.swk.co.za and can be sent to you by email by simply sending an SMS with the right lesson plan. Visit the website for more information. The macroscopic properties of waterThe first article in this series covers that most important of all molecules, water. The macroscopic properties of the three phases of a compound such as water, determines many of its chemical and physical properties. Water is one, if not the most, important compound on earth. The properties of water are one of the reasons for its involvement in many chemical reactions. So, to understand the behaviour of water, we need to look at the physical properties also and relate them to the behaviour of water during chemical reactions. More information: Related articles:
